On the second day, we partied it up at Maria Elena's. Ok....here we go....Burgers, ribs (prepared two ways), bacon wrapped asparagus with a strawberry dipping sauce, peel and eat shrimp, cooked shrimp with garlic and lime, potato salad, eggplant meatballs, corn on the cobb, salad...what am I forgetting???? Above is Maria Elena and my Mom BEFORE the eating began!
On the left is my cousin Michele (Maria Elena's daughter). Great photo of mothers/daughters!
Of course, Devlin enjoyed the heated pool....doesn't he looked relaxed?
We had to cap off the night with home-made icecream sundaes. Here, Matt (Michele's fiance) insists that she enjoy some pinnapple topping with her sundae. She has no problem with that.
I had to show you all a picture of Duke. I'm sure this picture speaks a thousand words! He is too cute! I swear this dog ran into the wall, people's legs, even the door frame the entire night! Luckly he is cleared to take the helmet off today. Good boy Duke!
The third day was the party of all parties....THE BABY SHOWER! Thank you Mom, Mommom, Marmie and Joe! Everything was so great! Though you may want to dig right into this "cake", I wouldn't recommend it....it's actually made of diapers! This was from Marmie and Joe along with the crib (and once the nursery is complete, we will be posting pics of the crib!).
My cousin Laura and her hubby Chris....
Yours truly and my baby daddy. Just kidding. Me and Devlin.
Grandpa Joe and Bryce, probably watching the slide presentation that he and my Mom put together with everyone's baby picture. How fun! It was too funny!
Check out that spread of food in the back!
Me and my honey bunny Michele.
Cousins....Michele and Brittany.
And let the present opening begin! This diaper bag was FULL of loot! Thanks Michele and Matt!
This jacket is actually Raleigh's first crabbing jacket. It is a one of a kind and was hand made just for him with Jack's Cove embroidery. I think my Dad is too happy to have a green horn on the way.
The funniest gift of them all! Grandpa Joe thought it only fair the Devlin contribute to the diaper changing and wanted to make sure he was prepared. This Daddy's doodie apron is complete with a respirator, rubber gloves, and a nipples....yes....I said nipples! I'm sure he now feels included and wishes he didn't!
These are my favorite! These little things are called pee-pee tee-pees. Thanks Kathleen and Bryce! I'm sure you can figure this one out for yourselves but just in case, they are meant to be put on Raleigh's wee-wee so if he were to pee-pee while his diaper was being changed, he would pee-pee in the pee-pee tee-pee instead of on ME!
This was probably Devlin's favorite. Raleigh's first skateboard. Thanks Brennen! I KNOW this will be used as soon as he can stand up if Devlin has anything to say about it. For his first b-day, how about a snowboard?
Mommom (Julia) trying a new look. (Did she get into the sangria?) Anyone....anyone?
Me and Marmie....
Me and Jules....I think I see a cupcake tier in the background!
We will be 29 weeks this Thursday. I have my glucose test that day and everything seems to going well. At our next appointment the doctor should be able to tell where the head, feet, arms, etc. are by pushing around on my belly. No more ultrasounds. The baby is getting bigger and is very active first thing in the morning and right before bedtime. I'm beginning to have back pain by the end of the day and my ankles get swollen if I stay on my feet too long. Attractive, I know!
It will all be worth it in the end. We had a great time in Philly and thank you family for all of your efforts at making Raleigh the luckiest kid in the world!
