To All Of Our Friends And Family

Since most of you are in lands far, far away, Devlin and I thought the best way to keep you all informed and up-to-date on Little Levin was to create this blog. We hope you enjoy!

Meat Olympics 2010!

Before I begin explaining Meat Olympics, I wanted everyone to meet Raleigh's future wife and mine and Devin's future daughter in law. This is Khloe, the cutest baby ever and her Mama Kirsten. We have all decided that arranged marriages are a wonderful thing and we have started the negotiations....

Our first annual Meat Olympics took place on Saturday, hosted this year by Kirsten, Blair, and Khloe. What is Meat Olympics you ask? Well, you prepare a bunch of meat and then see who can eat the most throughout the day. I thought I would win since I'm eating for two but it ended up being a 9-way tie. Oh well, maybe I'll get the gold next year! The picture above shows just a portion of the food that was involved in the Olympics.

This is what 6 lbs of king crab and snow crab looks like after the damage has been done!

Smoked boston butt and smoked turkey....

Kirsten making some patties for the grill and me showing off the basketball under my shirt! I am ALL belly.

Round one of Meat Olympics....sliders and sausage....

Charlie and Devlin....taking a quick breather from round one about to enter round two....Charlie is in the lead....

I was the winner of the crab picking category. Just look at me go!

Kirsten and Mark....Mark won the beer drinking category hands down....

Devlin came in close seconds behind me. Eating the shells really slowed him down!
Baby chocolate chip pecan pies....

Homemade keylime pie....

The aftermath....people struggling to leave their chairs....(Charlie, Blair, Sara, Devlin, Me)

But Jimmy the dog was more than happy to help out and even grabbed him a meat kabob off the table....

Most of you may wonder why all of my posts involve food. No, it's not because I am eating for two (though that is fun!) but because Devlin and I truely LOVE experimenting with different foods, cooking and eating things we've never tried, and spending time with people who enjoy the same! We are lucky to have friends who will even entertain the idea of Meat Olympics and enjoy food as much as we do! We had a great time and can't wait to do it again soon!
